A study conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health concluded that 42% of individuals in Maywood are uninsured, compared to the 25% in the Los Angeles County. Even under the category of insured individuals, 27% report difficulty accessing healthcare. We want to establish our program in Maywood due to the high number of uninsured individuals. Although we are targeting immigrants, low-income families, and the homeless populations, we will provide our services to anyone who is struggling with access to quality health-care and medical services. Our organization is best suited to tackle this need for we provide free medical services and nutritional services in a stress-free and comfortable environment. We emphasize preventative care and establishing networks through which our clients can receive proper nutritional supplies, vision treatment, health screenings, and guidance. Our commitment to conducting recurring events will not only provide consistent opportunities for individuals to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle but also empower our clients by establishing a strong sense of community.

International Collegiate Health Initiative (ICHI) is a 501c(3) approved nonprofit organization specifically designed to efficiently alleviate many of the barriers to healthcare faced by the underserved communities. 100% of all donations are used for the establishment and operation of the Mobile Community Health Clinic. ICHI is comprised of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students as well as professionals who volunteer their time and services for the betterment of the community.
